Rob Johnson, manager of the Green Legacy Programme talks about the importance of trees and the need to plant trees. He speaks about the disconnect we have with the environment and our food, and the importance of involving children. This spring the Green Legacy Programme in Wellington County will have planting over two million trees. The second video is about the importance of building up the organic matter in agricultural soils and the role of trees can play in agriculture.

He gave this presentation at the 2015 Trenton Woodland Conference  and the 2016 National Farmers Union Local Northumberland Hastings and Prince Edward.

Rob Johnson talks about the role agriculture has had in reducing carbon in soils, increasing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and the potential there is to reverse this by building up organic matter in soils. He was speaking at the National Farmers Union-Ontario Local 334 Hastings, Northumberland, Prince Edward County AGM on March 7 in Belleville.
